SocketMail Agent is an e-mail alerter that sits in your user PC.
The software need to be installed in the end-user PC and will stay in the
operating system's system tray and will pop up alert message box with sound
when new mail arrives.
Firstly, you need to have either SocketMail Pro or
SocketMail Lite installed and running. SocketMail Agent
is simply an external client that need to communicate to the installed site of SocketMail Pro/Lite.
SocketMail Agent client software requirements :
- Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP
- .NET Framework 1.1+ [ download ]
SocketMail Agent binary distribution is given free and they are downloadable from the Members Area.
However, customer must generate the 'key' file which includes the URL of the webmail and other basic information.
The 'key' file can be generated from Members Area. The key file then need to be included in your zip file for end-user download.
The distribution procedures shall be made available in the knowledge-base after 18 April 2005.
SocketMail Agent does not come with the source code. The source code for SocketMail Agent
are sold separately. Customization work can also be arranged, please e-mail to

The licensing is based on per domain name.
SocketMail Pro or Lite license that you have are refered as SocketMail
base/core engine license.
In any case, if you add new domain to your SocketMail Pro or Lite system, you do not
need to get additional license for SocketMail Agent. Only when you distribute SocketMail Agent
to your end-user to use for the particular domain, then you will need to get/purchase a license
of SocketMail Agent for that domain.
If the core/base engine license terminated, your SocketMail Agent will be terminated as well.
